The point is, never be afraid of what is new, but be really thoughtful about figuring out whether you can handle it and do it well. It's better to do a few things well than many things poorly. However, sometimes that new technology, business practice, or whatever it is, could help to keep you on top in your business.
It hasn't been easy to stay relevant as the world has been going paperless, but by becoming experts in marketing, it has allowed us to understand this process. We had to learn a lot of things all at once: we jumped into social media, web building, blogging, videos, and other forms of marketing. After that, we really had to dive into each one and become experts at them. It made sense for us in order to stay relevant, but each business will vary on how much they should take on.
Use your judgement! (I mean, you really should use your judgement all the time...so just keep doing what you're doing, unless you aren't and then use your judgement). Will this change fundamentally improve your business or increase your margins or productivity? If not, you can probably let it go.
